Dr Nanda Patil Sangeet Academy is a registered body or trust established in May 2016 in honor of the great Hindustani vocalist “Ganakogile” Dr Nanda Patil of Dharwad. She is a profound singer of Gwalior and Jaipur gharanas, a specialist in vachana music with three albums in it to her credit, well-known dasarapada singer, a expert in folkmusic too, with recitations in Marathi Abhang, Hindi Dohas and many other genres. Her mastery of hundreds of ragas and cheeses is too well-known. Dr Nanda Patil who began her music life at her age eight has given nearly 1000 concerts all over the country. She is a fine genius in music with a PhD. Even she has guided such fine singers like Dr Shakti Patil. Dr Patil is also a musicologist with several books to her credit some of them being published from Kannada University, Hampi. She was or is an academy or university syndicate member now and then. What else she is a fine society figure and human being. The academy will organize programmes not only in Dharwad-Hubli but all over the state and beyond. It will have extension activities.

Dr. Mallikarjun Patil and L.G. Devangamath Nage Natakotsava was conducted at Kannada Bhavan, Hubballi on 4th to 5th, April-2017. Dr. Mahesh Horakeri organised it. Patil's 'Mandodari Kalyanam' along with Devangamath's 'Nanagella Gottaiti' were staged. '2017 Patil and Devangamath Rangabhumi Puraskar' was given to Shashidhar Patil and '2017 Patil and Devangamath Nataka Puraskar' was given to Somanath Kathare.
