Kumar Shivakumar Patil
Dr Nanda Patil’s son Shivakumar Patil (b 1995) is born and brought up in Dharwad. He had his basic education in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dharwad and PUC from Narayan College, Hyderabad. He has completed his B.E (Computer Science) in BVB Engineering College, Hubballi and planning to study MS in America. His father Dr Mallikarjun Patil is a Professor and Chairman, Dept. of English, Karnatak University, Dharwad and he is a well-known bilingual writer with the film “Negilayogi” based on his novel to his credit. Shivakumar’s mother Dr Nanda Patil is an Asso Professor of Music and a noted vocalist and musicologist. His sister Ashwini Patil has done her MS from Syracuse University, New York (USA) and now she has a job in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She too sings with gusto. The mother has nurtured the genius of her son as well as her daughter in music and he sings as if he is born with it. Mr Achutarao of AIR has given him some lessons in light music.
